Gondola Tour

Gondola Tour

The symbol of Venice. Mentioned for the first time in a document dated 1094, this boat had over the centuries many changes and developments that led to what we see today.
Its peculiar construction technique remains a secret that is passed down from master to master shipwright.
Built with eight types of wood in 280 parts, has very little iron elements, including the characteristic iron comb that popular tradition is meant to represent the six districts of Venice and the iron back called “risso”.
If you come to Venice don’t miss the chance to cradle yourself trough rivers (canali) in a romantic gondola trip in the city of lovers.
Usually a standard tour takes 40 minutes and includes part of the Grand Canal and the smaller canals to finish where you started. The cost is about 80/100 euros but you should bargain the price with gondolier and fix it before getting on a gondola.
The proposed time is after four in the afternoon when there are no more noisy and bulky commercial boats.
